Laser Cut Works

These laser cut works reference the artist's oil paintings, but deemphasize the role of an idyllic place. Raw and less conventionally pretty, a laser cutter was used to literally burn line drawings of previous compositions onto the surface. These works expose unprimed wood, employing color minimally and strategically. By reconceiving previous works, this series tells the arduous story behind each aggrandized space. This act of repurposing elements from previous paintings is a way of conceiving each hypothetical landscape as one connected, theoretical space.
