Public Art and Site-Specific Installations
Public art and site-specific installations respond to unique architectures on site, from urbanscapes to grassy landscapes.
Water is Falling (Installation), 2023. Oil on 3D panel, and acrylic on vinyl, dimensions variable. Longwood Gallery @ Hostos, Bronx Council on the Arts. Included as part of the exhibition Self-reflection/Rehash: Practicing Uncertainty, curated by Sophia Chizuco.
Traverse
Traverse, 2023. Oil on 3D panel and acrylic on vinyl, dimensions variable. Installed at the Garment District Alliance's Space for Public Art on 215 West 38th Street, NY, NY, 10018. On view May 1 - 31, 2023.
Traverse invited the viewer to navigate towards an imagined place. This site-specific installation responds to the space’s architectures, framing windows within windows. Staircases, portals, and broken pathways reference climbing and wayfinding. Oscillating between the second and third dimension, the forms transition from painted to sculptural; illusionistic to real—as if offering passersbys an entry way to somewhere else from 38th Street.
